My name is Charlene Dlabaj A.K.A. Charlie Marie. As the mom of a teen child, having been a seasoned, highly recommended nanny and pre-school teacher for over 35 years with an education in Child Development, as well as being a professional pet sitter with stellar references, and dog/cat etc. mom for most of my life, I have the expertise to care for animals with the heart and love of a devoted and experienced mother.

My teenage daughter and I live in a three bedroom house in a quiet, dog friendly neighborhood near Austin, Tx. The 3rd bedroom is the dog room complete with toys, bones, a futon and cozy cots with blankets for lounging. I have a radio for classical music and use a special natural spray to keep the vibe calm. I also make nutritious home made meals, special treats and offer lick mats with peanut butter or other appropriate food to make sure the pups are healthy and enjoying themselves, even when they are crate training with limited space and options. Games, play time and safe water activities are incorporated into the daily training for conditioning, fun and stress relief. Puppies will stay in a crate next to my bed at night, but will have access to the play room, other areas of the house and the back yard where pups practice potty training and also have playtime in the grass, fresh air and sunshine throughout the day, but they are NEVER left alone outside unsupervised. That’s a promise!!

What sets me (and people like me) apart from the most common trainers and sitters in the industry is that the rare few like us are doing this work out of pure joy. The money just lets me use my time this way, to do what I love, being with animals. I’m so confident in my level of care and education, I offer live feed video of your pup and pets so you can see what your little beasts and I are up to at any given time. I also allow for drop in visits, outings and Facetime calls so you can interact with your pets for bonding with the family.

*For boarding, I prefer to take the puppies as early as possible, ideally before entering the family home, but I can work with a variety of circumstances.

Canine Development Coaching is available by zoom, Facetime, phone or even email depending on your preferences.

For Pet Sitting, I generally go to the clients’ home, but I may be able to keep a pet at my home in some cases. I offer 3 different care plans, but customized plans can be requested in a consultation.

For Puppy Home-Boarding School, I only take one puppy at a time. This is so they get a true family experience during training as opposed to a typical board and train program that operates like a kennel. Most kennel style training facilities come with many unwanted aspects. In- home care and training carries less health concerns, less stress factors and offers more attention as well as affection that is needed to reassure the animals that they are safe and cared for during their stay.

I have rescued many animals, mostly dogs that were abandoned and in danger. I hope to expand my business to build a sanctuary where rescued animals are trained to help people through trauma, stress and depression etc. When you hire me to help you, you are also helping other animals as well!
